The True humane heroes?

Women.
There certainly are men in the humane movement. I'm one and have been involved in the movement for decade and I'm not the only one. Many other men have known or have come to understand the tragic devastation of cruelty and the heartless and selfish brutality of animal abuse. Many have been moved to action. It is in my opinion though, not nearly enough.
When a job needs to be done, a woman tends to roll up her sleeves and gets to work. Her time, effort, dedication and personal bank accounts all come into play in order that her goal is accomplished. Selfless, absorbed, committed, determined and not backing down, regardless of the odds and criticisms presented.
Is this a disparagement of men? Absolutely not. If it were, I'd be taking a chunk out of my own hide. Many men tend not to be sufficiently self aware and live a good portion of their lives, unselfishly outside of themselves and to the benefit of ones who won't repay their positive gestures.
It just seems to me that the vast majority of problems that this world endures, are started, caused or aggravated by the male species. Some of the least productive social issues, some women embrace as well but it would be my guess to be a far smaller number.
The point is, that in my opinion women, reflect the best in humanity. Throughout my years of associations with various animal welfare groups, the many have been started, headed and continued in their essential mandates by women. For this, I and the animals protected, are extremely grateful.
