The 'Covid' conundrum

Just when you think that we might be able to return to some sense of 'normalcy' (of course some question whether that would ever be a good thing), a new and more transmissible variant of our good friend wreaks havoc around the world.
Covid has affected each and every one of us in a variety of different ways; some deadly and catastrophic, while others have been marginally less severe. All of them have been tragic.
Some groups and individuals have strategized very creative ways of maintaining business and personal activities while continuing to conduct their and their family's lives in a safe and secure manner. Others meanwhile have chosen the route of individual freedom and independent thought, refusing symptom-minimizing inoculations and have put themselves, their families and the general public at risk.
That being said, during these two years (and counting) of on-going pandemic days, animals continue to be abused; they continue to be hurt and they continue to be killed. During this pandemic, some of these animals continue to be rescued as well. Health care workers, firefighters, police officers, food producers and supply chain drivers are heroes in and for the human community.
Animal care workers, front line rescuers, foster families, remote spay/neuter staff and volunteers, TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) groups, transport drivers, airline pilots, procurement specialists, northern burlap collectors, veterinary clinics, charity animal suppliers for cages, food, toys, treats and the thousand of volunteers who have made and continue to make this selfless miracle happen, belong right up there with the other heroes.
When the need is there, the job for the animals gets done but that job needs financial support. That job needs volunteer help. The job of humane activity, needs you and me. Let's help get it done.
